Job Full Description:
We are working with a client who is seeking a dynamic Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager to lead and execute all plant food safety functions in support of our company's food safety goals. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and that all products meet or exceed customer, regulatory, and company requirements for food safety. The FSQA Manager will guide the plant Food Safety department in selecting, developing and motivating team members to achieve organizational goals.
The FSQA Manager will oversee the activities of the FSQA department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. This includes maintaining our SQF system, training programs, food safety/quality initiatives, and export programs.
Ideal Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager candidates will work to:

Lead the organization in fostering a strong food safety culture by working alongside department supervisors and leads, building positive relationships with regulatory and auditing authorities, and motivating production staff

Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF system, including food safety fundamentals, the food safety plan, and the food quality plan as specified in the SQF code

Manage the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the quality assurance program

Communicate all essential information to relevant employees to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system

Be a hands-on leader, working alongside employee to achieve company goals

Possess extensive knowledge of food-related regulations and applicable regulatory bodies; maintain communication with USDA
Job Experience
Desired Food Safety and Quality Assurance candidates will possess:
-
3-5 years of experience in the meat industry preferred and in a related field required, with supervisory experience a plus

Certified SQF Practitioner

HACCP Certified
-
Proven knowledge and application of food safety and science (experience and education)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Superior organizational skills and attention to detail

Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software
Job Education
Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Science or related field to the meat industry preferred
