Job Full Description:
The Revenue Cycle Director leads the Revenue cycle team and oversees functions like billing collections, coding, and medical records, with a strong focus on Claims, Denials, and A/R Management. Acting as a subject matter expert on Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic billing, this role collaborates closely with Senior Leadership on revenue-related activities. The Director managers the Revenue Cycle Team, ensuring processes, productivity, and financial results are efficient, accurate, compliant and timely across coding, billing, medical records, collections, and accounts recieveable. Additionally, this position mentors and coaches revenue cycle team members, driving engagement and performance across the department.
As a Revenue Cycle Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and analyzing revenue cycle metrics, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices
- Lead initiatives to improve billing and collections processes
- Manager and mentor revenue cycle staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure team members are knowledgeable about policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall revenue cycle efficiency
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvment
- Prepare regular reports for executive leadership on revenue cycle performance
- Develop forecasts and budgets related to revenue cycle operations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including billing and coding guidelines
- Conduct audits to identify and mitigate risks related to revenue cycle processes
- Implement corrective action plans when necessary
- Enhance patient experience by ensuring clear communication regarding billing and payment processes
Job Experience
Desired Revenue Cycle Director candidates will have:
- 5+ years of experience with hospital and clinic billing and collections
- CAH and RHC experience
- Four years previous experience of professional experience working in a leadership roles, preferably within healthcare
- Certified Revenue Cycle Executive (CRCE) oroe similar certification
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, billing practices, and reimbursement methodologies
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and other coding systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and knowledgeable about billing software
- Preferably experience with Epic EMR systems
