A successful, growing consumer goods company is seeking a Sr. Director of Sales to lead the strategic direction, performance, and operations of their wholesale division. This is a dynamic, full-time leadership position ideal for a results-driven, relationship-oriented professional with a proven track record in sales, operations, and team development.

The Sr. Director of Sales will oversee all aspects of the sales function, including revenue growth strategy, team performance, sales operations, and key account management. The successful candidate will drive a high-performing, customer-focused sales culture through effective leadership, KPI management, process development, and cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product development, and distribution teams. This position requires an individual who excels at problem-solving through teamwork, builds trust quickly, and brings a deep understanding of B2B and retail/wholesale sales environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and execute the strategic direction for wholesale sales across all channels, driving both top-line revenue growth and bottom-line performance.

  • Lead and manage a national sales team, sales operations, and independent representatives across multiple brands and product lines.

  • Create and implement KPI-driven strategies to increase market share, grow annual recurring revenue (ARR), and improve customer retention.

  • Manage all aspects of the sales cycle including order processing, fulfillment partnerships, and customer service.

  • Lead sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting for monthly and annual revenue goals.

  • Oversee compensation planning, sales contests, and incentive programs to align team behavior with business objectives.

  • Drive collaboration with marketing to ensure alignment on campaigns, branding, and B2B eCommerce growth.

  • Integrate sales processes and systems to streamline operations and improve data integrity across ERP, EDI, CRM, and eCommerce platforms.

  • Support change management initiatives aligned with company mission, vision, and values while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key wholesale partners, national accounts, custom clients, and local boutiques.

  • Monitor sales team performance, coach team members, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders in operations, distribution, and product development to ensure customer needs are met effectively and efficiently.

  • Analyze market trends, business structures, and account ROI to inform strategic decisions and sales forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with contract agreements, EDI requirements, SLAs, and internal policies.

  • Participate in strategic planning with senior leadership and contribute to long-term business growth initiatives.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time hours

Job Experience

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods, retail, or wholesale industry; experience in social expression, giftware, or product-based industries highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional sales and sales operations teams in a high-growth environment.

  • Proven success in revenue growth, sales forecasting, and managing sales performance via KPIs and CRM tools.

  • Experience leading key account sales strategy and developing scalable sales processes.

  • Strong understanding of marketing trends and how to support field execution through marketing collaboration.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Highly skilled in business analysis, process improvement, and organizational change.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, ERP software, and EDI compliance.

  • A strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and brings energy, creativity, and resilience to the role.

  • Superior coaching, mentoring, and team-building abilities with a focus on accountability and development.

  • Ability to travel for customer meetings, tradeshows, and team events as needed.

Job Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
