Job Full Description:

A well-known restaurant is seeking a General Manager/Partner to lead their Grand Rapids location and foster a positive team culture. This role is ideal for someone looking for a long-term opportunity for partnership in a successful business and wholesome work environment. The General Manager/Partner will oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while managing profitability and compliance with legal and labor regulations. Candidates should possess restaurant experience, strong operational skills, and a solid understanding of P&L management. A flexible schedule is offered, with no Sunday shifts.

General Manager / Partner Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring high food quality and customer service standards are upheld in each interaction. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize profitability, including managing budgets, inventory, and cost control measures.
  • Analyze financial reports and P&L statements to identify trends and areas for improvement, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations, promoting a safe and inclusive work environment for all staff.
  • Hire, train, and develop a diverse team of employees, fostering a positive workplace culture and promoting teamwork.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with guests, addressing concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the corporate team to implement marketing initiatives that drive sales and enhance brand visibility.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, set goals, and reinforce company values.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations without overstocking.
  • Participate in community events and networking opportunities to build the restaurant's local presence.

Schedule: Full time variable hours week-by-week including some Saturdays required. 

Job Experience

General Manager / Partner Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in management or a similar role, with a strong understanding of operations and customer service, is required.
  • Restaurant management experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience managing P&L statements and a solid grasp of financial reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Knowledge of legal and labor regulations relevant to restaurant operations, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team, aligning with the company culture.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
  • Proficient in restaurant management software and Microsoft Office Suite, utilizing technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Highly organized multitasker who demonstrates initiative and proactive decision-making skills.
