Job Full Description:

A high-end car dealership based in Grand Rapids is seeking a Full-time Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Associate to support the team with daily accounting tasks. This position is ideal for someone looking for a work environment that is fast paced and deadline driven while contributing to a collaborative team. The Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Associate will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining Accounts Payable process including matching invoices for payment, processing checks, EFTs and credit card payments.
  • Maintaining A.P. schedules and reconciling statements.
  • Maintaining Accounts Receivable process including depositing, recording and reconciling service and parts receipts and vehicle sales receipts, including charge cards, on a daily basis. Maintain cash schedules and bank account balances.
  • Prepare A.R. statements, A.R./inventory schedules.
  • Handle Vendor and Account Customer Communication including preparing year end 1099s.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements, assisting with special accounting projects as necessary.
  • Assist with various administrative duties including but not limited to filing, archival scanning and processing mailings.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Review and process expense reports, ensuring proper coding and timely payments.
  • Conduct account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
  • Organize and file accounts payable documents, including entered and paid invoices.
  • Assist with year-end duties, including 1099 processing and filing and physical inventory.

Schedule:

8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm

Job Experience

  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of purchasing and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, as well as general internet and email use.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on professionalism.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments.
  • Dependable and punctual, with proficient time management skills.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Education

2-3 years of college education preferred, with a focus on accounting or finance.
