Now with our second generation leadership, we are gearing up and taking on new heights. Alyssa is passionate about helping local businesses build-up leaders and help grow by supplying a premier employment partnership to help leverage smarter recruiting efforts, on-boarding processes, and best-practices to help retain employees.
Growing up with Express “dinner table talk” since the age of 9, you could say Alyssa bled the Express blue blood. From working in the office every summer, to interning at other franchises in Indianapolis, to hearing all of the heartache and success her parents saw in their 20 years as Franchisees, assuming Alyssa as a Second Generation owner would have been an utter and complete misconception. The status-quo of the staffing industry’s less than popular reputation compared to the fast-paced, thrilling, and high growth .com industry was a no-brainer. After graduating in Business Management from Krannert at Purdue University, Alyssa landed an opportunity at a startup company in downtown Indianapolis. After just 14 months selling on the phones, and at the age of 22, Alyssa hired and managed a team of 28 fully commissioned Sales Reps, growing the company from being employee #111 to having over 2,500 employees in just 5 years. This opportunity ignited her passion for Leadership, and her eyes were set on climbing that Corporate Ladder!
At 25, Alyssa and her high-school sweetheart husband began to grow their family. Working the long-hours, traveling, and the stress of sales management was no longer the dream career. So, life did a 180 degree turn. Their family moved back to their hometown in Northwest Indiana, Alyssa went part-time working remote, and God began working in Alyssa’s heart. “You’d be a fool” were the words Alyssa just couldn’t kick. So, after 6 months of praying, she applied to Express with the intention to help her Parents sell the business. After 2 weeks in the office, Alyssa’s passion for Leadership was once again re-ignited, but this time it was for the family business!
Alyssa has spent the last 5 years completely re-building an award winning office while also opening a second franchise. With a "Coach Up or Coach Out" mentality as the focus, complacency was not an option with Alyssa’s new team.
"One of the first activities we did as a team back in 2016 was develop our Vision and Values. Our Values are used as a guide to how we Hire and how we Fire. As long as we stay true to these, our business culture, retention, and reputation will be true to who we are and who we want to be. It is my commitment to always hold myself and others accountable to these values and have the tough conversation, or make the tough decisions when needed. To me, that's leadership.", states Alyssa.
