The Specialized Recruiting Group is partnering with a fast-growing provider of advanced aerospace solutions located in South Central Indiana to fill a direct-hire opportunity in Business Development! 

Business Development Manager Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to drive sales for aftermarket, MRO, and OEM products with current and prospective customers by executing a well-defined sales strategy.

  • Lead the execution of a strategic sales plan within an assigned territory, focusing on maximizing sales and profitability.
  • Cultivate and sustain productive relationships with clients, industry organizations, and business partners.
  • Act as the main point of contact for client communications, including requests for technical information, pricing, and other business interactions.
  • Oversee a team of 4-6 Account Managers.
  • Identify product needs through customer engagement and thorough product knowledge.
  • Work with departments such as Quality, Production, and Engineering to find solutions for customer challenges.
  • Deliver solutions that align with customer requirements through effective presentations and business cases.
  • Support inquiries and help develop pricing strategies for customers.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of company products and prepare presentations for current and potential clients.
  • Assist the leadership team in formulating and executing a business development plan for the territory.
  • Conduct market analysis and provide insights to executive management on opportunities and strategic initiatives.
    Other duties as assigned.

Pay/Benefits:

  • Target salary: $100K-$120K (dependent on experience)

Job Experience

  • 5+ years of sales experience within the aerospace industry with in-depth knowledge of aerospace components and systems, including rigid tube components and related systems.
  • Proven track record in direct sales with up to 75% travel (including potential international travel).
  • Extensive experience generating new business in domestic markets (international experience is a plus).
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with experience in business development and management.
  • Strong research, analytical, and report writing skills, along with excellent problem-solving abilities and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify growth areas and align them with company capabilities, driving profitability.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of customer acquisition processes and technical requirements, offering innovative solutions when needed.
  • Technical and program management background with a proven ability to develop new business and foster relationships in the MRO, OEM, and Aftermarket sectors.

Job Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
