Job Full Description:

As the VP of Information Technology, you’ll lead strategic IT initiatives, including Custom Development, Applications, IT/Security, and oversee vendor relationships. Reporting to the CEO, this role involves close collaboration with senior leadership to support business operations across departments and guide technology investments. Your leadership will also drive IT performance, continuous improvement, and alignment with company goals.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT policies, strategic plans, and budget management, including tracking recurring and non-recurring expenses and monitoring project spending.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to provide IT support across functions such as Account Management, Equipment Management, and Back Office support.
  • Offer technical leadership on software development tools and enhance communication technologies, including web access and cloud services.
  • Monitor and evaluate new technologies and systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    Foster staff engagement and development, building a high-performance IT team and a collaborative culture.
    Manage vendor relationships, drive technology procurement, and continuously improve security architecture to meet industry standards.
  • Establish operational procedures and SLAs focused on continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the main technical architect across departments, ensuring streamlined integration and unified IT strategy.
  • Deliver comprehensive application support and integration solutions, ensuring smooth functionality and interoperability between the company and its partners, including MercuryGate, PortPro, and MS D365 Business Central.
  • Stay informed on security vulnerabilities and risks to proactively safeguard company data.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of the company’s data warehouse to ensure optimized data management, reporting, and analytics capabilities.

Job Experience

Essential Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of business systems, and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead IT transformation initiatives in dynamic environments and build high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on performance and organizational change.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
    Azure experience in identity management, security, cost control, infrastructure automation, CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment), high-availability, data services, and cloud optimization.
  • Trucking/Logistics/Supply chain experience preferred.

Job Education

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the IT field.
  • 5+ years in a senior IT management role.
  • Proven success in leading a diverse team of IT professionals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field is required.
